Cookies at A Friend
A Friend uses the technical storage needed to operate this pre-launch website, protect forms from abuse, remember per-session analytics state, and deliver the site reliably.
For Indiegogo-campaign measurement, the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API may be active. Where required by law (EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland), they only run after you give consent through our cookie banner; in other regions they are active by default. When active, the Meta Pixel sets first-party cookies (_fbp at all times, _fbc when you arrive from a Meta ad with a click identifier) so we can measure which ads bring people who join the waitlist and build privacy-respecting audiences for the campaign. The same events are mirrored server-to-server via the Meta Conversions API. Email addresses sent to Meta are SHA-256 hashed before transmission.
The site stores a first-party session identifier in sessionStorage for privacy-conscious first-party analytics. This helps us understand page views, section visibility, CTA clicks, scroll depth, social-link clicks, and waitlist submissions without using cross-site advertising identifiers.
Hosting, security, analytics, newsletter, and Meta-measurement providers may set or process technical information required for delivery, fraud prevention, rate limiting, debugging, email delivery, and ad-performance measurement. Where possible, URLs are stripped of query strings and fragments before first-party analytics storage.
You can withdraw consent for Meta Pixel/Conversions API at any time by clearing your consent cookie, using the opt-out option in the cookie banner, or emailing hello@a-friend.ai. The site remains fully usable if you decline marketing cookies. If cookie or tracking behavior changes as the campaign, commerce, or product surfaces go live, this notice and the privacy page will be updated before those changes apply.
